The email ID (cop@vsnl.net) provided in the messages is an official ID of Commissioner Office of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, INDIA.
Th Chennai polices have also solved some cases of mobile phones theft (received complaints through cop@vsnl.net) using the IMEI no. The related news published (2006) in
other news related to cop@vsnl.net
Women harassment complaints can be also registered through email at cop@vsnl.net in Tamil Nadu (November 6, 2014)
What is HOAX????
The email ID belongs to Commissioner Office of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. So the service is mostly applicable only for Tamil Nadu. So there is no guarantee for other sates of INDIA

first visit the nearest police station, give a complaint, instead of complaining over an above cop@vsnl.net and waiting for their response.
